The Midtown lunch crowd is piling into Social Eatz, not only for a chance to glimpse Angelo (Top Chef: All-Stars) Sosa, but also because his Asian- and Latino-inspired comfort food is really tasty. Sandwiches, tacos and burgers (or "sandwich'z," "taco'z" and "burger'z," as they're called here) are served in a spiffy, shiny setting by a young, eager-to-please crew. The Korean-style bulgogi burger is sauced with soy and garlic and garnished with kimchi, while a clove-spiced sloppy joe (or "Sloppy Ho Chi Minh") packs heat with red chili ragout. The whimsical theme carries on through dessert, featuring tart yuzu cream puffs and dark chocolate spring rolls with smoky chipotle caramel sauce.
